Trade volume between Germany and Russia fell by 24 percent

Germany's trade with Russia in the first half of 2020 decreased by 24.2 percent compared to the same period last year. This was announced on Friday, August 21, by the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.

According to him, the volume of trade between the two countries in the first six months of 2020 amounted to 22.2 billion euros. Thus, Russia ranked fourth among the countries of Eastern Europe, behind Poland (56 billion), the Czech Republic (39 billion) and Hungary (24 billion). In the first half of 2019, it was in third place, ahead of Hungary.

In total, the volume of German trade with all 29 countries that the Eastern Committee deals with decreased over the period under review to 197 billion euros - 34 billion less than in the first half of 2019.
