Sochi: Rosa Khutor will open new hiking trails in the mountains

In the new summer season, the resort, together with the Sochi National Park, will open two routes - "Shepherd's Trails to the Greek Bridge" and "Nakhazo".

The walking and educational route "Shepherd's Trails to the Greek bridge" takes about 10-12 hours during daylight hours. Its length is 22 km. This route starts from the Rosa Khutor Valley, then ascend by cable cars to Rosa Peak, after which tourists will have to overcome the shepherd's paths of the southern ridge of Aibga, descend into the valley of the Mzymta River, to the village of Krasnaya Polyana.

The length of the Nakhazo route is about 8,7 km with a vertical drop of 305 meters and a duration of six hours. This route runs from the upper station of the Caucasian Express cable car (Rose Peak, 2320 m above sea level) along the Yavor ski trail to the lower station of the Crocus ski lift and then traverses along the Aibga ridge along a dirt road.

The new hiking trails require an experienced guide.

Last year, 11 routes operated at the resort. Taking into account the two new routes, tourists will have access to more than 100 km of hiking trails and 13 routes in the mountains,- the press service of Rosa Khutor reports.


Rosa Khutor is a year-round mountain resort in the Circassian homeland, located on the banks of the Mzymta River and the mountain slopes south of it in the Adler district of Sochi, Krasrodar Territory.

The resort has 28 cable cars, the total length of ski slopes is 102 km, there are 14 hotels, as well as a private beach on the Black Sea coast.

The resort is located 4 km from the village of Estosadok, which is part of the Krasnopolyansky settlement district, and is located 40 km from Adler, at the foot of the Main Caucasian ridge. From Adler International Airport to the resort can be reached by a combined road-railroad in 30 minutes. The "Lastochka" electric train runs from Sochi.

The territory of "Rosa Khutor" covers approximately 1,820 hectares of the northern, northeastern and southern slopes of the Aibga ridge, rising from the Mzymta River from an elevation of 575 meters above sea level up to the top of the mountain range in the area of ​​the Stone Pillar (Kamenny Stolb) peak to an elevation of 2509 meters above sea level.
