Poll: German firms expect a boom in the Russian economy

German companies in the Russian Federation, despite the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, are optimistic as possible in many years. "After difficult years marred by the coronavirus, sanctions and political conflicts, German firms in Russia are recording growth and are apparently catching up on investment by investing billions of euros,"  Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the Board of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce (AHK) Schepp) said on Wednesday, June 23, in Moscow.

According to a survey conducted by the AHK, 68 percent of firms operating in the Russian Federation expect positive or at least weakly positive development of the Russian economy in the second half of 2021. 47 percent intend to expand investments. "Almost half of the companies use financial resources to grow in the Russian market," Shepp said.
