In Kabardino-Balkaria the area for laying intensive gardens will be increased by 9%

Intensive and superintensive gardens are planned to be laid in Kabardino-Balkaria at the end of 2021 on an area of ​​1.5 thousand hectares, which is almost 9% more than last year. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic.

The ministry emphasized that in 2020, perennial plantations were laid in the republic using intensive and superintensive technologies on an area of ​​1,380 hectares. The main part is made up of apple trees. In addition, pears, plums, blueberries and peaches are grown in the region. By the end of the year, the plan is to receive about 535 thousand tons of fruit and berry products.

Earlier, the head of Kabardino-Balkaria, Kazbek Kokov, speaking at the III International Exhibition and Congress of Technologies PROYabloko-2021, said that by the end of 2021, the republic would harvest 18 thousand tons of apples more than last year (517 thousand tons). Kokov noted that there are 33 fruit storage facilities in the republic with a total capacity of one-time storage of over 150 thousand tons.
